ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS
I have been into photography for over thirty years. My father was a portrait photographer, and my grandfather was a landscape oil painter. I think the combination of their passions is why I feel so drawn to combine both fine art and photography to create my own works of art.
Before their wide-spread popularity and advanced technology, I began photographing temples with drones. I loved the idea of seeing the world from a different perspective. I have enjoyed the chance to visit and see these beautiful Houses of the Lord from a Heavenly View.
My goal was to photograph each temple in the United States. It was challenging, but I was able to accomplish that goal.
I hope you enjoy each of my photographs, as I have enjoyed every moment creating them.
My first experience with LDS temples was at the San Diego Temple open house in 1993. This led to a desire to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I joined the church a year later. My love for temples has grown into a passion to photograph them.
In addition to being a wedding and portrait photographer, I currently serve as a Church Service Missionary Photographer. I earned my degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho and in my rare spare time, I find any excuse to travel and photograph temples. I live in Arizona, but I’m always on the move with my husband, David, and three teenagers.
Beginning at a young age, he has always enjoyed photography, always taking photos on family vacations. It wasn’t until his conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he developed an interest in temples. The temples of the faith are beautiful majestic buildings that show the faith’s faith in their Savior Jesus Christ. For that reason, Buruca photographs these sacred buildings to show the world how wonderful they are and how Holy they are. A.J. also has interests in photographing landscapes, cityscapes and wildlife.
A few months before Jason returned from his mission, he sat in the primary room of a chapel in Las Vegas wondering what he could do to keep progressing in the Gospel. He sat there looking at an image of Perfect Love from Del Parson, he made a goal to go to the temple regularly. As attended, he had a thought about taking a camera with him. 12 years later, Jason has photographed just under 40 temples, and has been a part of the Inspirational Art Association. He has served on the Board of Directors. He has also been published in numerous publications, books and websites. Jason resides in Arizona with his wife Kirsten and two children Preston and Olivia.
I am an artist and mother of five, living in Payson, Utah. I enjoy art in all of its forms. In 2010, when the Payson Temple was announced (just blocks from my home), I couldn’t have been more excited! Photographing the temple has taken a special place in my life. I continue to marvel at the beauty of the immaculate temples, as well as God’s creations in the sky and landscape. I look forward to capturing many more scenes of these holy temples.
It was at fifteen years old that Taylor first developed a love of the temples. He felt a desire to photograph the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has spent many years traveling the country to capture new photos of the House of the Lord.
Taylor’s unique combination of beautiful photography and artistic creativity produces incredible images that inspire people around the world. His photography is featured online and in retail stores and LDS publications, and also held in numerous homes and collections around the world.
